The Shoestring, Some Duct Tape and A Prayer

In my final gig, back when I was working for a salary, I was responsible for starting, managing and growing a shipping company.

My owner/boss would try anything as long as it didn’t cost much money.

This forced me to become very resourceful and to think differently. It also forced me to invest in tools and resources to train myself and grow my abilities.

The company didn’t have the money

to buy me any skills, training or books.

So each and every month, I’d take a little bit of my own personal funds and invest in my growth – so that I could be effective at managing and growing the business.

Yup, you read that right.

I invested MY own money to improve my skills to grow HIS business.

But in the end, it worked out fairly well for me.

The company grew and I became an ‘expert’ and it launched my guru career.

Age-old financial wisdom says:

-Save 10%

-Give 10%

To the above I would add:

Invest 10% in your own education, personal growth and development.

Most people think doing any one of these things is impossible, let alone all three.

But few things are more valuable than knowledge, wisdom and marketable skills.

The compound interest you earn over five or ten years of steadily investing in yourself is INCALCULABLE.

So even if you can’t manage the saving and the giving part, don’t stunt your success by not investing in yourself either.

Some food for thought, as you begin the New Year.

To your success in 2012,

Olav Myklebust

What if Everything in this world is Perfect?

What if everything that is happening is happening for our own good? What would happen if we chose to look at everything as a learning experience? What if Everything in this world is Perfect?

As a leader and someone that you team looks to for guidance and advice, has the question occurred to you. What if everything is perfect? What if everything that happens, everything that has happened, and everything that will happen is exactly what had to happen, is happening and needs to happen for your benefit and the benefit of you organization.

Now I’m not asking you to take this on as “the truth,” even though it might be. I’m asking you to take this on for your benefit, as something that will empower you as you move forward in your position as a leader in your organization and in your life. Because to not take this on, what you don’t realize is that you turn yourself into a victim. And I must say that being a victim is a very popular game. Don’t take responsibility; it’s always something or someone else doing it to you. It’s never your fault. You’re just this helpless weather vane in the wind of life. Sound familiar?

Here’s why it’s empowering to act as if everything is perfect: because then you will learn and grow from the experiences of life and constantly become more of who you could be. And, I assert, becoming more of who you could be is exactly what you want to use this life for.

How does this work? First you have to start from the proposition that life and business is not about winning or losing. Rather, it’s about winning or having learning experiences. So you look at everything either as a win, in which case you celebrate the win and learn how to continue winning, or as a learning experience, not a win, in which case you also learn how to do a better job next time so that you increase the likelihood of winning. Either way, you win.

Here is a common example: you have a conversation with someone and it doesn’t go very well, maybe it actually turns into an argument, maybe you leave with your feelings hurt, whatever. From the perspective of a victim, you blame the other, they blame you, you dig deeper into your position and you plan your next attack.

But if you look from the perspective of perfection, you look to see what went wrong in the conversation, how come it turned into an argument, what you did to contribute to that, what you could do in the future so that things like that don’t happen again, and you even look to see that maybe you need to apologize to the other and get the conversation cleaned up.

Trust me on this one and give it a try. You will discover a power within yourself that you didn’t know was there if you look at everything as perfect and take responsibility for it all.

When you go to get the free book the 7 great lies of networkmarketing, what will you really find out?

Without going into all the “secrets” of the book, (I suggest you go and get a free copy of the book) Ann Sieg covers the basic premise that there are 7 myths about the growth of a network marketing business that have been handed down year after year, and, for the most part, are really responsible for much of the unnecessary pain and distributors of brand new problems from the business suffer.

What is interesting is the the 7 great lies of network marketing, together with the accompanying book, renegade network marketing, actually provides a solution to these problems. Learn how real market your business as a professional, and to reach a target market of potential prospects, largely using the Internet.

Basically, you embed something known as the model of “franchise” in your business and direct marketing to those people who are already turning to the Internet for real solutions to their problems, both the product or business.

A fundamental principle of the the 7 great lies of network marketing is that it talks about how to treating your home business … .. just like a business. Learn to generate leads, develop a marketing funnel, and rely on multiple sources of income, not just the source of your primary MLM opportunity.
Now, let’s be realistic. Ebooks will never be the key to your success if you do not apply the principles contained within. This is true in a home business as in any profession. Apply what you learn is the key.

This ebook is one of the best to learn from this time in this industry.

New ebook reveals why the majority of mlmers fail in their business… Click Here!

To your Home business success,

Olav Myklebust

You may have heard it before and it’s true.

The only people who make money in network marketing are leaders.

There’s a saying that Alex Mandossian, a great direct response marketer, has that goes like this…

“You can build a $1 million company with the HOW, but to build a $10 million company you need the WHO.” Now I know what you’re thinking.
A $1 million dollar company would be just fine with me!

Right?

Well just go with me for a second…

Yes, you can make a GREAT income on your own using the “HOW” (developing your own personal marketing skills,
traffic generation, copywriting, etc).

But if you’ve been struggling to do that for quite awhile, try this hat on:

Even if you’re not currently leading a team of people or even if you don’t feel like you’re ready for that, you have to become a leader of yourself FIRST in order to make any kind of money whatsoever.

You have to get YOURSELF to work together as a team before you can lead others.

What do I mean by that?

Well, it sounds crazy and a literally weird, but a shocking amount of the time we literally self-sabotage our own success.

We all have different parts or personalities, if you will, inside us that all want different things, do things for different reasons, and often times not
only are they not working together but are actually in direct conflict with each other.

For example, there may be a part of you that really wants to go for it, do whatever it takes to reach
massive success.

But then there may be other parts of you that are holding you back.

Parts that may even be afraid of success or what it would mean. Afraid of the responsibility or that you won’t be able to fulfill your promises.

And then there are parts of you that tell you to stay in your comfort zone and play it safe. That’s too risky, what if I screw up?

It doesn’t seem to make any sense that we would sabotage our own success, but there are actually many parts of us that are actively thwarting the flow of money into our bank account.

Many people don’t have control of all of these parts.

And deep down inside, that’s what prevents them from having the confidence to lead other people or really commit themselves fully to something with the kind of all-in mentality that it takes to really make something work.

So before anything else, even before the “HOW” of running a business, you have to have a “meeting of the minds,” so to speak, within yourself and get all these different parts to align and work together.

An incredible paradox just occurred to me as I was writing this.

I just watched an interview BBC News did with an independent stock trader and they asked him what he thought of the latest plan to try and save the Euro.

Jaws around the room dropped to the floor as he flat out told them that he didn’t care if the latest bailout package works or not and that he goes to bed at night dreaming of another recession because if you have a plan, that’s when you make the most money.

He went on to say that people need to stop waiting around for the government to fix things and learn how to make money during a down economy instead.

If you look around, you’ll see headlines everywhere about how unemployment levels are at all time highs…

While at the same time, there has never been more opportunities and more how-to information on financial success and paving your own path than at any other time in history.

You’ve got detailed courses everywhere that cost less than what it takes to fill your car up with gas a couple times – a mere fraction of the mountains of debt that people go into for a college education – on how to make six figures from home using things like a blog and Facebook… miraculous modern tools that are free to use.

So why isn’t everyone financially free?

For most people, the answer starts with learning how to lead themselves.

You have to empower yourself first before you can empower others.

To Your Success,

Olav Myklebust

You need to apply yourself and work!

“Take time to work; it is the price of success!”

You need to apply yourself and work!

By far the biggest joke online must be the one that tells you that you don’t need to do anything to make money!  You know what I mean:

“30 minutes a week is all it takes!”

… Or this one;

“You don’t do anything; we do all the work for you!  All you do is collecting your cash!”

These are the pitches of frustrated desperate people. They have been taught the lies from the self proclaimed Gurus, that teach the “Fake it tell you Make it”. I know, I have been in the audience and have heard this. When I first got involved in Network Marketing, my instincts told me, that this was wrong. It went against my character and I never indulged in this devious type of deception.

To achieve success requires determination, discipline and a lot of work. But it is worth it!

With that said, yes, there comes a time, somewhere down the road, when you’ve been at it for a while already, that indeed all you have to do is spend 30 minutes a day or a few hours per week to maintain the momentum of your online business.  That is true and highly possibly.

A successful business takes years! Are you listening to me? This is a fact. It takes years to build and nurture and invest in your business. All successful business owners know this. It rarely happens over night. There are many good reasons, it should take time.

To achieve great wealth without great effort will destroy you. You have probably heard the stories of people who win a million dollars in a lottery. Those same people years later are broke, lost everything. That wealth without discipline and great sacrifice is nothing more than a curse.

Remember that as you toil for years before you start to see great success. You are being prepared for success by working, sacrificing and developing discipline.

It is like farming or growing a garden. You must prepare the earth so it is fertile. You must plant the seeds in the fertile soil you prepared. You must water those seeds, and take care of the sprouts so they grow strong and productive. You need to feed your garden with good fertilizer. You must cultivate your garden so it grows unencumbered by weeds and pests, and then the day comes for harvest. And a sweet harvest it is.

Like my own business, I have spent long time building it. I developed a clientele, gave them more than I promised and treat them like gold. Some things worked other things did not.

I consistently kept at it. Putting back into my business the money it created. I sacrificed to let the business grow. I listened, pursued knowledge, researched and developed as it grew.

I let my creativity expand and trusted my intuition. I allowed myself to make mistakes; being forgiving of those mistakes and learned from them. I continued to rebuild and improve, never accepting failure or ever quitting.  There have been times of prosperity and I used that to invest into the company and save for the hard times. There were hard times and I worked even harder during the challenges, never giving up. Always focused on my client’s best interest to deliver to them the best I can do.

Attraction Marketing is prosperous, and I share that prosperity with my team. Always focusing on the future growth. I take care of it and it takes care of me.

Business is a relationship. Like a marriage, it is long term and I have never had the mindset that I would try, I have always had the mind set that I would succeed and treat my business with respect.

Like a garden, I plant, cultivate and harvest always building for a stronger season in the future.

But if you are like most beginning marketers, who start out online with little or no available funds, then you will have to labor to bring your business up to a level that it can run by itself by means of you being able to hire people to do the work for you.

So once again, don’t be fooled by those fast talking marketers with their flashy websites and stunning videos, who tell you that they got an online business for you that will make you money within 36 hours and you have very little or no work you need to do to make that money.

I promise you right now it’s not going to happen.  And if it does, then I promise you there is another catch attached that you’ll only find out about once you bite into their scam.  Usually that catch comes in the form of a hefty payment if you wish to continue with their product.

The truth is that to get your online business off the ground and without having lots of financial resources at your disposal, you will have to put in many hours of labor to make your site successful.

The truth is that even if you can afford to outsource all the tasks needed to make your site successful, you will still have to monitor what all these folks are doing.  That’s work.

The truth is, a successful business requires work, continuously and constantly.  Don’t ever convince yourself it doesn’t.

Sects And Violence In Business

There’s a lot of fighting in the business world.

Especially in the home based business industry, such as sects and violence in business.
It’s a lot like in the old days when you had sects warring against each other over the land and peoples not already established under
a kingdom — with lots of infighting, trickery and fraud.
In our industry it starts with badmouthing online.

Such as in forums or on blogs.

Someone will be in business A and want to take down business B, and
will go forth and spew lies, accusations and other falsehoods that
simply aren’t true.

We see it ALL the time online.

If you own a system like CarbonCopyPRO  –Secureinternetsystem –  it’s even worse.
You get the entire industry taking shots at you just because they are not able to keep up.

Kind of pathetic of them, actually.
And you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

This is why I advise entrepreneurs to ignore the hate echo chambers.

Ignore the NEWS, too.

Don’t even bother with it.

It’s all negative, and nothing good comes from it.

This is true even if someone is badmouthing YOUR business, too. Be the bigger person and just ignore it.  People who have time to surf
around from forum to forum spewing lies obviously are just not that successful at whatever they’re doing, and they want you to roll
around in the mud with them.

Don’t.

Resist the urge.

And realize the more successful you get, the MORE this happens.

The more some people will hate you (for no reason).

And the more “heat” you’ll take just for existing.

Being a success is extremely fun and exciting, can give you freedom and money, and it will change your life.  But if you let others
drag you down, it’s all for nothing.  This is one reason not everyone should be an entrepreneur.  If you can’t take a little
heat you’ll just end up sabotaging yourself until you’re ”comfortable” again.

That’s also why you must qualify for CarbonCopyPRO before joining.

Success can come very FAST, and it’s not for the timid. Avoid sects and violence in business

Years ago I got some junk mail with the headline:

“Lies, Lies, Lies!”

It was selling an investment newsletter, and it had cartoons on the first page of all the people who are lying to us in the financial
world.  Like, for example, stock brokers, politicians, investment ”gurus”, sue-happy lawyers, bureaucrats, etc.

It was definitely an advertisement.

But it also did you a SERVICE, too.

Because in between the sales pitch it brought awareness about all the scams, lies and trickery going on.

And you know what?

Lies also infest the home based business world, too.

Whether it’s the fly-by-night MLM company with the founder who was in prison twice before… or the so-called “rebate processing”
schemes that constantly get shut down by the feds… or some obscure Internet pyramid scheme where no actual product is moved…
they’re out there.

Stalking you.

Hunting you.

Waiting for you to make a move so they can prey on you.

I saw it all the time while looking for a home based business.

Heck, I even FELL for a bunch of them.

Not all home based business opportunities are bad, of course.

There ARE some good ones out there.

But if you pick the wrong one, it could be an expensive mistake.

So choose wisely.

Check out ALL claims.

And keep your ear out for lies (if you hear even one, run!)

It may not be your “cup of tea.”

Or you may not even qualify to join.

But I can promise nobody will lie to you about it.

Sociopathic Gurus To Watch For

There’s a lot of chicanery in the biz opp world.
Some of it’s obvious.
But, some of it’s not-so-obvious.

The obvious ones I never worry about.  It’s the not-so-obvious ones that can fleece you of your money and credibility.  And, in some cases, put you in some serious trouble, too.

Take for example, a shyster business “guru” from the 1990′s.

I won’t name his name or anything. (He’s no longer in our industry anyway).

But he was a MASTER of selling and persuasion. He could charm the birds out of the trees.
And he would mesmerize people with great storytelling that’d have them buying into his business opportunity without a second thought, credit card held in their hot little hands.

Only problem was, he was a fake. In fact, he was a felon.

And this “emperor” truly had no clothes!

As a result, all those people who spent money on his program ended up eating all that lost money and probably still haven’t gained the

trust of all the friends, family and co-workers they tried selling the guru’s system to.

Today this is even MORE widespread.

You have bona fide sociopaths attracted to this industry.

Sociopaths are people who don’t have a conscience. The idea of caring about someone is as foreign to them as the color red would be to someone who is born blind — making lying, cheating and (in extreme cases) killing as routine and easy a decision as you or me ordering a burger at McDonalds.

No remorse.

No guilt.

And no shame.

Unfortunately, they LOVE industries like this, too. So be careful who you get into business with.

I’m not saying there’s a con behind every bush, and thankfully there ARE some great people in this industry who DO care.

But there are a lot of the bad guys, too.

If you want to check out CarbonCopyPRO – http://secureinternetsystem.com/thankyou?v= – we’re an open book.  We don’t hide anything or con or hype anyone.  That’s probably why Fox Business News was interested in us, why Home Business Connection Magazine featured us, and why we attract the best entrepreneurs around the globe to us.

How To Save The Economy

Everyone is freaking about the economy.

And who can blame them?

And my question is: How to save the Economy

Everywhere you look it’s nothing but doom & gloom, tent cities, lost jobs, foreclosures and soon, maybe even blood in the streets (don’t scoff — historically violence and mayhem thrive during times like these).

So what does everyone do?

They look for a super politician in his cape and tights to swoop down and save the economy from the monster.

Sorry, but that won’t happen. I don’t care how pro-business they are, either.

One of my friends recently put it like this:

Politicians won’t save the economy because they CAN’T.  They don’t actually produce anything.  All they do is redistribute and
regulate (i.e. strangulate). Which is why if you’re an entrepreneur then YOU are actually doing far more for the economy than any
politician ever can.

This is why we need more entrepreneurs right now.

Not politicians.

And if you want to be an entrepreneur, what are you waiting for?

The world NEEDS you now.

We’re the last line of defense against poverty and starvation, and when the chips are down, it’s the entrepreneurs who take care of things.

Keep commerce and jobs going.

And who, quite literally, save the economy.

Anyway, if you want to jump into the entrepreneurial game and help us save the economy, and do it in a way that’s safe, sensible and
is so simple. Then check out:

http://secureinternetsystem.com/thankyou?v=

But time is of the essence.

Every day you’re not an entrepreneur is LOST opportunity.

Why?

Because it’s during times like this when entrepreneurs make out like bandits (did you know more millionaires were made during The
Great Depression of the 1930′s than in any other era in US history?).

So the message is clear:

(1) You can PROFIT from the situation.

(2) Or cower in fear and regrets with the rest of the world.

The choice is yours:
